I listed to Steve Edwards discuss this tool and he said that it helps you isolate the scapula muscle in the middle of your back to more fully develop it, instead of relying on other nearby muscles to complete the pull-up.
I started out doing only 3 Pull-ups at the beginning of p90x but by the end, I could do 16. Now I’m going to work on form and more fully develop my back muscles!
