“I had not eaten breakfast for years”, admitted Sandra Wright. Do you skip out on breakfast?

Sandra did and while she was into sports in high school, fast food and a little social boozing in the years after threw her weight into upville!

For much of her first years of motherhood, Sandra’s weight fluctuated as she jumped from diet pills to fad diets. All she wanted was to control that stubborn baby weight that she had taken on after giving birth to her son and daughter. As the weight increased to an incredible 200 lbs, she couldn’t stand seeing pictures of herself. Finding excuses to going outdoors was her way of avoiding embarrassment, even when it meant not playing with her kids.

Then reality caught up: high cholesterol, thyroid medication, backaches, hip pain and the onset of osteoporosis. It was her wake-up call!

Inspired by her son’s dedication to such home fitness programs as P90X2 and her husband completing Tony Horton’s 10-Minute Trainer, she went for it. She gave Turbo Jam a shot. Then stepped it up with Shaun T’s Insanity, the workout designed to make you into an athlete.

It wasn’t always easy to stay committed and Sandra lost focus temporarily. It wasn’t until she learned about Chalene Johnson’s TurboFire that IT WAS ON! She was able to relate to the exercises because they were mostly jumping moves set to dance music.

“After finishing TurboFire…I weighed 130 lbs, a 70-lb loss from where I started [200 lbs].”

Very amazing, huh? We think so too! Today she is a Beachbody coach and is helping others that struggle with fitness to regain their strength and confidence; helping them to lead a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle!

Sandra wants you to know that if she can do it you can do it!

1) What were your before/after stats?

Before: 200lbs (2010)

After: 130lbs (2013)

 2) What your life was like before and how it has changed/improved?

When I was a teenager I didn’t have a weight problem. I was active at school playing sports, but when I finished high school all of that stopped. Eating junk food and drinking, my weight gradually increased over the years. My weight would yoyo depending what fad diet was out at the time.

I had my daughter and turned to diet pills this time to help me lose my baby weight. When my son was born I was at my heaviest in years. In 2002 I hit the gym and joined weight watchers. When I went back to working evenings I stopped going to the gym and slowly over the years gained all the weight back.

My husband was the one entertaining the kids, taking them to the park and swimming. Whenever Dean would suggest going out for the evening I’d find an excuse not to go. I didn’t like the way I looked and didn’t want to be seen. Something had to change. I was looking at pictures of myself from the summer . I was the heaviest I had ever been.

I started out on this journey in November 2010. I had reached 200 lbs and after seeing the pictures from that summer I decided that something in my life had to change.  I was suffering from high cholesterol , my thyroid medication was constantly being changed, I had back problems and hip problems and osteoporosis was entering my life as well. I spent a year just dieting and walking and trying to avoid junk food.

I couldn’t do much to start , first of all I cut out my trips to the coffee shops. My son had bought P90X2 and was in contact with David Ingram. My husband bought 10 minute trainer and started using that daily.

I started out with Turbo Jam. Learning the moves was tough as I hadn’t done anything like this before. Dean wanted something a bit more intense and he convinced me to join him in trying Insanity. After doing the Insanity fit test we questioned what had we got ourselves into. Insanity got me through my plateau and it took me to a new level. I couldn’t complete more than 1 month of Insanity it was too tough and after a family vacation I lost my way slightly.

I went back to Turbo Jam and tried Charlene Extreme and settled on Turbo Fire. I had finally found a program that was right for me. I had always been losing weight whilst jumping around the programs but Turbo Fire took me to where I am today. After finishing Turbo Fire in April 2013 I weighed 130lbs, a 70lb loss from where I started.

Today I have much more confidence and I’m happier in my life. I now get to shop in all the clothes stores that I could only dream about a couple of years ago.

3) How has the support of a coach and this team helped you?

My son Thomas was in almost daily contact with David asking question after question. My contact with my coach was through Thomas at this time. Thomas was pushing me with his stories of how great beachbody was and talking about the great results people were getting. This drove me on, to keep getting results and when I decided to become a coach it was David and Kate who was there to answer my questions and concerns and convince me that after all my struggles with weight now was the time to pay it forward.

4) Besides the support of a coach & team, what was the key to your success?

Shakeology was key to me . I love chocolate and chocolate shakeology is my daily fix of it. I had not eaten breakfast for years and I knew this wasn’t good for me, now I have shakeology everyday and it sets me up for the rest of the day.

5) What tips would you give to someone who is new and starting out?

1.  Join a challenge group, you can’t get enough support

2.  Try and follow the program and nutrition plan as much as you can

3.  If you have a question ask your coach, if they don’t know the answer they will know someone who does.

4.  If you are thinking about becoming a coach, stop thinking about it and sign up now. Don’t miss this great opportunity!
